Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Con Edison.
Senior Associate
The interview process was really fast and nice. I had 3 interviews. Just a heads up, after you get the offer, the background check and HR stuff can take a while, so expect to start more than a month after accepting.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Can you share an example of when you used your communication skills?
- Can you share an example of when you showed leadership?
Associate
I was an intern who was encouraged to enroll in the GOLD program. The process felt rushed; after I registered, I received an interview slot just three days later. I was informed three weeks after that I had not been accepted.
- How would you measure employee performance?
Associate
So first, I had a phone interview with HR that was about an hour long. They asked me some really basic stuff like what I know about the company, why I'm interested in the program, and about my past leadership roles and internships. Then, I went to their main office for the next part. A recruiter gave me two quick essays to write, one about leadership experiences and another about leadership qualities. After that, I interviewed with two senior employees from Con Edison who had been through the program themselves. They asked more in-depth questions about my leadership experience, general industry and company knowledge, and some hypothetical situations I might encounter in the role. I found out about the final decision about a month later.
- Can you share an instance where you took the lead on a team project?
