Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at COMSOL.
Marketing Assistant
I got an email saying my application was selected and the interview would be on a specific day and time. I couldn't change it. When I got there, there were about 25 candidates, all with different backgrounds. First, there was a general presentation of the company with the leaders and the current marketing assistant. Then, a 10-minute individual interview (a bit short to really convince and sell myself properly, in my opinion). Finally, a small exercise where I had to write a cover letter. Honestly, I didn't really get the point of the exercise. Were they expecting an original cover letter or just checking my French level? In short, lots of competition, not much time for candidates. I think I would have preferred them to reduce the number of candidates and extend the individual interview to 20/30 minutes?! On the other hand, the two leaders and the marketing assistant are very nice, and they try to make us feel as comfortable as possible. The company atmosphere seems excellent.

Marketing Assistant
I had a couple of interviews with two marketing managers. The first manager asked me about my previous job and gave me a lot of details about the role and company. However, the interview felt a bit rushed because it was late in the day. Also, when I asked why the position was open, she said the previous person wasn't really qualified and just 'fell into' the job, which made me question their hiring process. On a positive note, she did say I seemed qualified and could get up to speed quickly, as they needed to fill the role fast. The second marketing manager I met was very friendly. The questions were pretty standard, like asking why I'm a good fit for the role and about my strengths and weaknesses. I didn't end up hearing back from them.

Marketing Executive
The interview process for the marketing role wasn't overly complex. It started with my Manager, who then assigned me some tasks. Following that, I had a final interview round.
- Could you describe your past marketing roles and responsibilities?
