I applied in July, and after a recruiter call with HR, I was asked to complete a background check and a survey. A few days later, I had a face-to-face interview with the Lead Web Developer and two other team members. They discussed the company's history and current projects, then asked me technical questions. They showed me a website built with Bootstrap and asked for improvement suggestions. Some personal questions followed. I was told I'd hear back within a week, but after waiting, I had to follow up multiple times. The lack of response was unprofessional, so I eventually withdrew my application.

I applied and the recruiter contacted me right away. We discussed my resume and background, and how they fit the role. They talked about the client and the needed skills, basically reading the job description. The recruiter's over-the-top coddling made me feel like I couldn't be trusted with the client. They sent interview tips and called me the day before to "prep" me, reading the same tips again. It was insulting, like asking if I made it to the interview after I already had the call with the hiring manager. The hiring manager's interview was good and professional, but I no longer wanted the job because of the recruiter and it being a short-term contract.

I had a phone screen first and then got invited for an in person interview. The interviewer was really prepared and answered all my questions about the company and gave me a good rundown of the job. It was a great interview, and they kept me updated throughout the whole thing.
