Software Developer
Had an HR chat, then got invited to a company-hosted training course. For a few days, we learned the company's main product in their training room. Staff were around to help and answer questions. They even provided meals, and we sat with staff to chat. Near the end, we had to build a system based on what we learned and present it to some staff. While we were building, we also got pulled out for one-on-one interviews.
- Can you describe a time you had a conflict with a teammate?
- Share an experience of handling a tough situation.
- What's your proficiency level with X languages?
Systems Engineer
The interview process was pretty long, it took over a month. First, there was a phone screen with HR. Then, an in-person interview with the HR manager. After that, a technical interview with the lead engineer and manager. They mentioned a fourth interview, but I didn't get that far, though I was told it would be the final one. My feedback is to do the technical interview first to save time.
- Can you describe a situation from your past?
- Tell me about your background and how it fits the role.
- Show me with scripting examples how you'd automate tasks in cloud platforms such as Azure.
Project Manager
The interview process is pretty long and detailed, with at least 4 parts. First, an HR assistant does a 'pre-screening' chat about your past jobs, what you expect from a workplace, and your ambitions. They'll also give you the lowdown on the company and mention its impressive growth. If you make it past that, you get an access code for a 'ProfileXT' test, which is an aptitude and personality assessment. Next, you'll meet with the HR manager and the same HR assistant for an in-person interview. They'll discuss your ProfileXT results and assess how well you'd 'fit' into the company. Computronix really values teamwork and sees itself as a 'corporate family' where everyone looks out for each other. They'll ask you some questions based on your ProfileXT, comparing your responses to their 'ideal' project manager profile. Then, prepare for a 4-5 hour intensive session in the late afternoon, which includes pizza! You'll be in a room with other candidates and a bunch of middle managers (team leads, project managers, HR folks). This is where the 'technical' stuff comes in. They're still checking for 'fit', but you'll get questions like planning a family move and then dealing with issues like the moving truck not showing up. A key thing they want to figure out is whether you lean towards being a 'people pleaser' or a 'hard ass' with your team, and how you handle motivation, underperformance, and preventing burnout. Working through these challenges with other candidates is interesting because you want to stand out but also be supportive. Finally, a few shortlisted candidates get a 2-hour interview with a senior executive. This is heavily focused on your ProfileXT results again and how you'd manage a team. You'll face some 'impossible' scenarios, like the Kobyashi Maru, and they'll probe for weaknesses with questions about your frustrations and times you didn't get what you needed from your manager.

Business Analyst
You'll have around four interviews total. They really care about how you'll fit in with the team's vibe. It kicks off with a quick phone call, then you chat with HR one-on-one, followed by a technical skills check, and finally, you meet with some of the senior managers.
- Many questions are challenging.
- They are trying to assess character and desire to grow as much as skills.
