First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CompTIA.
HR Generalist
The interview process was pretty standard. It began with a phone screen by the recruiter, followed by interviews with the hiring manager and then the HR Manager. They asked standard questions about my motivation for applying and my interest in CompTIA.
- What are your reasons for wanting to join this company?
- What specifically about CompTIA attracted you?
Sales Role
The interview process was smooth and efficient. I first had a virtual interview with the Director of Talent Acquisition. Then, a second interview was scheduled quickly with the hiring manager for the following week. During this meeting, I noticed some differences between the job description I was initially given and the role that was discussed. While the overall process was good because everyone was responsive, I was a bit disappointed about the job description not matching the actual role discussed in the second interview. Also, I had to lead the conversation in the meeting with the hiring manager because it kept going to small talk instead of focusing on important parts of the job.

Accountant
First H/R calls on the phone to make sure you are a good candidate. I then Zoomed with the controller and then a separate week I interviewed with the team. Overall this process took up 3 weeks and in my opinion was way to long. I had to email HR for an answer and then immediately after I got a response and then followed by a generic "you were not chosen" email. Nice people but I just feel like 3 weeks was wasted and then it was irritating that I had to reach out for an answer.
- What is it that motivates you on a daily basis?
Workforce Solutions Manager
It started with a phone interview with HR, and then a Skype interview with the hiring manager. After that, I had back-to-back interviews in person with 4 managers. The last interview was tough because they asked me a lot of the same questions without any breaks in between. It lasted about 2.5 hours.
- Can you share an instance where you felt your intentions or message were not properly understood?
