Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Compass.
Senior Recruiter
The interviews were done via video call. Setting up the interviews was easy, and the hiring team seemed friendly. The hiring manager explained their business model and goals clearly. I liked how excited the team members were about their jobs.
- Can you describe a challenging search you handled in your previous position?
Recruiter
A recruiter reached out to me on Linkedin about joining their Corporate Recruitment team. I did my research and was interested because Compass is an amazing company doing big things! We set up a time to chat. She gave me an overview of the company and the role and asked me about my current job situation. Things went well, and a video panel interview was set up for the next day with 2 team members and the manager. This was a great experience, and I got to feel out the vibe of the team and who I would potentially be working with. A few hours later, I had an offer! I love that the team was ultra-transparent, communicative, and moved so quickly. That's how an interview process should be conducted. They truly care about the candidate experience. Whether or not I left with an offer, I would have had a positive image of Compass because of how the interviewing team conducted themselves.
- Can you share something important about yourself that isn't on your resume?
- What makes you want to work for Compass?
- Describe a challenging client relationship you managed.
Technical Sourcer
The interview process moved quickly, and I enjoyed speaking with everyone. However, I had four 30-minute conversations where they all asked the exact same questions. It felt like they weren't coordinating with each other, or I could have had all four of them in one 30-minute meeting and gotten the same outcome. Since I have a full-time job, I felt they didn't value my time or their own. Overall, it was a neutral experience.
- What platforms do you typically use for sourcing candidates?
