Behavioral Case Technical

The interview process involved two main rounds. The first round was a 45-minute session covering both behavioral and case study questions. The second round had two 30-minute segments, one for behavioral questions and another for computer-related topics. The whole experience spanned about 2-3 months, and sometimes it could be a bit tricky to schedule everything. They asked things like 'Why Compass?' and 'Why econ consulting?', and also about teamwork. Standard interview questions were part of it too.

Behavioral Technical Case Other

The whole interview process was conducted remotely via Teams calls. It started with a call with a senior economist, followed by a quant and English test, a case interview, and a technical interview. The entire process spanned over two months, concluding with negative preformatted feedback without a detailed explanation. I expected a debrief call to understand my shortcomings, especially given the lengthy duration and my prior experiences with other firms where such feedback was provided. The initial Teams call focused on assessing my understanding of the company's work and my motivation for joining economic consultancy. The case interview involved analyzing a 6-page document about a potential merger, requiring a short report to a manager highlighting critical aspects and relative indices (UPP) derived from the data. The technical interview covered data cleaning, which I found to be quite easy and not very evaluative of skills. The most challenging part was the test, and I recommend practicing SHL-style quantitative reasoning.

Technical Behavioral Case Presentation

Submitted my CV and cover letter via email. The first stage involved a GMAT-style math and logical reasoning test, followed by a 15-minute motivational interview. This initial interview was quite basic, focusing on whether I understood economic consulting, its distinction from management consulting, and my genuine interest in the field. Then came the second and final round. I was given case study materials and had 40 minutes to prepare for an interview discussing the case. The case study was relevant to CL's work, potentially involving damages estimation or antitrust issues. The interview lasted about an hour, covering my findings, data analysis, and key points. Afterward, I had around 30 minutes to write a one-page summary of the meeting and outline next steps. The very last part was a longer motivational interview, probing my skills, experience, and economic intuition and knowledge.
