First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Compass Health Network.
Supported Employment Supervisor
I applied online and heard back from a recruiter pretty fast. It took a few tries to actually connect with her to set up the in-person interview, and then she was even late for it. The interview itself felt kind of messy, with the recruiter and the manager for the role there. The manager even admitted he was trying to discourage people from taking the job, showed me some slides about how tough it was, and complained about creating the role. Even though it might be new to our area, the role isn't revolutionary, and he didn't invent it. After this awkward interview, I sent a thank you email but got no response. The next day, I got an offer elsewhere, so I checked in with Compass about my status. I then got an automated email saying they were moving on with other candidates. When I asked for feedback, they said they wanted someone with case management or community-based work experience, which wasn't in the job description and was apparently missing from my resume despite my master's degree and admin background. Then, the recruiter offered me a different job that paid $10 less and only required a high school diploma.
- What's your approach to handling disagreements among colleagues?
Program Supervisor
I spoke with the recruiter, my direct supervisor, and the department director. They were all very friendly and wanted to learn about me and my background. Because this job involves managing clinical staff, the questions focused on both clinical abilities and leadership. The interviewers were very clear about the job's responsibilities, pay, and benefits, and none of the questions felt out of place. It was a positive experience, and I was offered the position very quickly after our conversation. From the moment I first connected with the recruiter on LinkedIn up until the onboarding training weeks later, everyone at Compass was open, professional, and supportive. They seem committed to ensuring employees succeed and feel at home throughout the entire process.
- Can you share an instance where you approached a problem with an unconventional solution?
Integrated Health Specialist
So after I applied, the hiring manager called me to set up an in-person interview. I met with the hiring manager and my direct supervisor. They asked me some basic questions like 'Tell me about yourself' and 'Why did you leave your former job?', as well as some behavioral questions that involved specific scenarios, like how I would handle working with a family or what I would do if a certain situation occurred.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain why you are no longer with your previous employer?
- What aspects of your professional development are you looking to enhance?
- Can you share an example of working with a family and the result of that interaction?
Director
I heard back from them within a week of applying. The interview was done over ZOOM and included an HR recruiter and two other directors. The questions they asked were standard for this type of role. The entire hiring process, from when I applied until I got the offer, was really smooth and fast, which I appreciated.
- Can you describe your current responsibilities?
- How would you describe your management approach?
- Could you discuss any ethical scenarios you've encountered or how you handle them?
