First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Compass Coffee.
Barista
The interview was pretty easy and straightforward, with expected questions. It was an online meeting that lasted under 15 minutes. The hiring manager wanted to check my knowledge and personality, which totally makes sense for a customer-facing barista job.
- Tell me about your favorite coffee.
- What makes you want to join Compass Coffee?
Chief of Staff
The interview was pleasant. The interviewer was professional and explained their goals/achievements and expectations for the role. The questions were straightforward and more focused on fit.
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this position?
Sales Representative
I went through 3 rounds of interviews. The first two were on Zoom, and the third was in person at the company's Ivy City location in DC, where I met the CEO. Although I didn't get an offer, the process was good overall. The recruiter and CEO were respectful of my time, and I'd definitely recommend Compass Coffee to anyone looking for a job there.
- Can you discuss your sales background?
District Manager
I got an email to set up a Zoom interview and I scheduled it. The Zoom interview was short and I felt pretty good about it. After the interview, the interviewer didn't follow up like they said they would. I followed up by email twice to show I was still interested and ask about next steps, but they ghosted me and never responded.
- Could you introduce yourself?
