I talked to a recruiter who was great, but the company Community Tax was really rude and it felt like a waste of my time. I had a phone interview with the recruiter and then met her in person. She also checked my references. She set up an interview for a specific time, but an hour before, Community Tax canceled and asked to reschedule for the same time the next day. I rearranged my schedule again for this. The next day, they didn't call until 35 minutes after our scheduled time. They apologized briefly when they finally called, and I told them I only had about twenty minutes to talk. During the whole call, I was put on and off hold, didn't get to ask any questions, and felt super rushed. Honestly, it wasn't a fair interview for a candidate. I was really flexible with them, and I felt their behavior was extremely rude. It made me feel like they didn't care about my experience as a young professional, and they really shouldn't have reached out if this is the impression they wanted to give candidates.

Behavioral Case Presentation

So the recruiter from the company called me up and we talked for about 15-20 minutes about my past work and what this job is about. The recruiter was really thorough explaining what they do and how this role fits in. I liked that a lot because it cleared up most of my questions. Any other questions I had got answered right away, and he was super open and honest. After that initial chat, I had an in-person interview with some managers. They answered my remaining questions, and again, the focus was on my sales and closing abilities. It seemed like an interesting setup, and they mentioned they're moving the sales office soon, which is happening now. They offered me the job pretty quickly after that, and then came the onboarding stuff with a lot of paperwork, but I'm happy to have the offer.

First, there was a phone screen, and then I went to the office for a face-to-face interview. It was really professional and informative. The people who make decisions were there to talk to during the first interview! I met with 3 people and they were super passionate about the company and their jobs, and they told me exactly what they expect for this role.

It was pretty basic, honestly. They asked stuff that's normal for entry-level accounting jobs. Like, easy questions about financial statements and tax returns. Plus, they hit me with the usual behavioral questions too. It felt like a fair difficulty, not too hard or too simple.
