Educator
The recruiter interview was a quick 15-minute phone screen. They asked a lot of technical questions during this initial stage. It seemed like they expected a lot of in-depth knowledge for an entry-level position, which surprised me. My advice for anyone interviewing is to brush up on the technical terms related to the job, think about potential situations you might encounter and how you would handle them, and make sure you have a strong grasp of the subject matter before the 15-minute call. It also took a while to get a response after the interview.
- Tell me about what D.C. residents are currently facing.
Health Service Risk Manager
It was a three-part process. First, I had an initial interview screening a team of directors. If I passed that, I was requested to do a work sample. If that went well, I moved on to the second round interview in front of a panel. The whole process was efficient and fluid.
- Can you describe safety issues you've identified and managed?
Prenatal Care Coordinator
I had a phone interview first and did very well. When I arrived for my in person interview it was a panel of 4 women. 1 was friendly, 2 were only half way present and the main person was very rude, intimidating and rushed. She clearly she had decided long before we finished the interview that she wasn't interested and she felt like belittling me. The women on the panel did not introduce themselves and did not talk about their positions or work. They also looked intimidated by her and refused to answer any questions that offered their opinions on the culture of working at the company or under her. My dream position, but definitely would've had problems working under her management.
- What motivates you to work with low income communities?
Recruitment and Performance Manager
The interview process was really strange, especially the vibe in the room. The two managers seemed really energetic and into it, but the two team members looked bored and like they were just going through the motions. They barely asked any questions and would give each other side-glances when the managers said certain things. It was definitely an odd experience overall. They said they'd get back to me, but I never heard anything about whether I was even being considered, which was pretty disappointing but also telling.
- They asked a lot of typical behavioral questions.
- They asked a lot of typical situational questions.
