Case Worker
The interview process started with a phone interview. Then, I got an email with a quiz, application, and details about the job like pay. After that, there was a Zoom interview. My first attempt was a bust because nobody showed up, so they scheduled another interview. This one was a 1:1 and went for over an hour. I was told I'd hear back within two weeks, but then they ghosted me. Later, they claimed I hadn't submitted references, even though I had, and then they changed their story when I sent proof. It was a really bad experience.
- Can you describe the most difficult experience you've had working with someone and explain how you handled it?
- What is your motivation for wanting to work with CIS?
- In what ways does your previous work experience align with the requirements of this role?
Resource Counselor
I interviewed back in 2021. They asked typical questions to check my skills and experience. The job description kept changing, which was a bit confusing, but the overall experience was good, and the employees seemed nice.
- How did you find out about CIS?
Resource Counselor
The interview process was pretty relaxed. If you are asked to come in for an interview you will most likely be interviewed by one of the special projects supervisors. They are viewed as the higher ups in the company. Depending on the position, your second interview may vary. For my second interview I was asked to do a job shadow with a program coordinator and a client. They want to see how you communicate and react directly with someone from the disabled community. After my job shadow, I was hired within a week.
- Do you have prior experience working with the disabled community?
Vocational Resource Counselor
First, you have to print out an application from the website and bring it in. If they decide to call you, you'll come in for a personal interview and do some aptitude testing. This testing involves thinking about a problem and then figuring out how you'd solve a potential issue over a 6-month timeline, broken down into steps. It's mostly to check out your writing skills and how you write about stuff on official forms.
- What makes you interested in this line of work?
- What steps would you take if a client became physically aggressive?
