Applied on week one, had a phone screen with HR on week two, and then a teams interview with two men on week three. They spent 40 minutes asking question after question for this entry level data entry job. It felt like every standard interview question you could imagine, from ‘why do you want to work here?’ to ‘Tell me about a time when…’. I would have preferred a more genuine conversation since they seemed nice, but they could not have truly cared about the answers to those questions.

I had a phone interview with a talent acquisition specialist. They asked me to go through my resume and describe the skills and competencies from each position. After the first position, I confirmed that this was what they wanted for all positions. I spent the next twenty minutes going through my resume, pausing and asking if they had any questions. They did not ask me a single question, which was surprising. They hardly said anything and seemed uninterested. I asked insightful questions about the company, and they gave short, abrupt responses. They said they would contact me the following week with an update on next steps, but they did not. I sent a follow-up email, which they never responded to. The whole process was unprofessional and reflected poorly upon the company.

So first there was a phone screening with the recruiter, then a team interview. I think the next step would have been a director interview if I had moved forward. They were really communicative throughout the initial stages. The team I spoke with was great. After my second interview, the recruiter was super responsive via email and said they would reach out either way. But then I got an automated rejection email on a Saturday night and never heard back from the recruiter personally, which was a little disappointing. Make sure you have good examples ready, as the interview seemed to focus heavily on that.

The interview was about thirty minutes long and included answering questions from two managers or leads. They didn't mention it was in a call center, which made me lose interest once I found out. The employees only get a thirty-minute lunch, which is not acceptable for this type of work where you're stuck at a desk/computer. I assume everything I said was written down for later review. The managers asked about my previous experience and how it related to the job I applied for.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you share an instance where you improved the work environment for your colleagues?
  • Describe your previous experience and its relevance to this role.
