First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Community College of Denver.
LMS Coordinator
I had a 45-minute video interview on Monday with 3 people on the panel. They asked me behavioral questions and we did a role play, which was a first for me. After the interview, they said they'd let me know by Thursday or Friday of that week, or the next Monday or Tuesday, but I never heard back.
- What would you do if a faculty member kept asking for help with the same issue, even after you've already explained how to fix it multiple times?
Academic Advisor
I went in person to interview with two senior advisors. It was a long interview where they asked a lot of questions about what they were dealing with in the department and how I would handle it. I got an offer ten days later.
- What would you do if a student arrived at 5:00 PM when the office was already closed?
Clinical Instructor
I first called to ask about the program's status. Then, the program Chair invited me for a visit, which turned out to be a way to see if I'd be interested in teaching. I visited the campus several times for interviews. During these visits, we talked a lot, and I got to show what I could do. I learned about the program, and they learned about me. Eventually, they offered me a teaching position, which I accepted by finishing the paperwork. After that, I had to wait a month for everything to be processed and for me to be put into the system.
- Can you discuss your prior experience relevant to this role?
Instructor
The first interview was with the department head. It felt warm, inviting, and casual. The next interview was with the department head and the dean of the college. It was a bit more formal than the first one, but I didn't feel pressured at all. The questions asked were more conversationally presented, like we were having an interesting conversation.
- Can you tell me about your hands-on professional experience in your field?
