First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Community Bridges.
Patient Service Representative
The interview was conducted over Teams. It included several questions about how you cope, your strengths and weaknesses, and a specific instance where you made a mistake at work and how you handled it.
- Can you share an instance where you made an error at work and describe the steps you took to rectify it?
- Share an example of a mistake you made at work and what you did to address it.
Communications Specialist
My first interview was in-person at 8 AM, but due to a scheduling mistake, I had to wait an extra 30 minutes. This is typical of non-profits, where they expect one person to handle everything. The way the department was set up seemed poorly organized and reactive rather than proactive. My second interview was scheduled, then canceled on the day of, but CBI asked to reschedule. I gave them a few dates, and then I never heard back. It was a very disorganized and unprofessional process, which is a shame given their great mission.
- Can you tell me about your general skills as they relate to this role?
EMT
The interviewer was really nice and easy to talk to, and on time. He was upfront with my questions and responded fast. He did mention that communication is the biggest area for improvement for the company, which I later saw was true. He couldn't talk about salary, so I was in the dark about pay. He did recommend me, but things went downhill after that. There was a lot of miscommunication and I had to follow up for weeks before HR got in touch with a job offer that was less than I expected. I tried to negotiate salary and hours, but it took days or weeks to get answers. They didn't change their offer for pay or hours in the end, but still offered me the job 6 weeks after the interview.
- How do you manage when things get really stressful?
- Can you tell me about a tough challenge you encountered at work and how you dealt with it?
EMT
The interview process was okay. I applied online and got a call back within a couple days. The interview was set for about a week later. I got offers from two places but only got the job at one facility. For the first place, the manager and supervisor interviewed me. They both took a smoke break and almost forgot about me until I had to remind them I was done filling out another application, even though I'd already done one online. They read questions from a paper. I didn't get the job there. At the second place, I interviewed with two nursing supervisors. There was a mix-up about the interview time, so they were late. They also read the questions from a paper. It was kind of a chill environment. They aren't too picky about candidates because of high turnover and constant understaffing. Salary was brought up at the end, and they'll try to pay you as little as possible. They offer extra pay for overnight shifts and have bonuses for being bilingual, but you have to take a test and score 75% or higher to get the bilingual bonus. This is how it was when I interviewed, but it might have changed.
- What would you do if you couldn't meet a customer's needs and how would you deal with that situation?
- What's your motivation for wanting to work at this company?
- What potential weakness or challenge might you face if you were hired for this position?
