Water Permit Specialist
Applied online and heard from the Hiring Manager in about a week. Got invited to a panel interview that focused on my technical skills. They mentioned I was 1 of 6 people interviewed out of 77 applicants. Nailed it and got a call within a week for a second interview, which was more behavioral. That also went well and I thought I'd get the job. But a week later, I got an email saying I wasn't selected. I was bummed and asked the manager for feedback. He said my qualifications were great, but the other candidate seemed to get the role better and had awesome references. Overall, it was a fair and good experience, and I think I would've liked working there.

Administrative Assistant
Got contacted about a month after applying. The interview had a very rigid, bureaucratic feel. I was escorted to a waiting area by admin staff and waited about 10-15 minutes. Interviewers were diverse but didn't seem to fit my background. The interview felt impersonal with scripted questions. No follow-up questions or discussion happened. My attempts at small talk were met with very short answers. The interviewers seemed detached, taking notes like they were observing animals. It felt like the decision was already made and this was just a formality. After the interview, I had trouble finding my way out. They didn't contact me by their deadline and ignored my follow-up messages.
- What makes you the top choice for this role?
Child Support Specialist
The interview was pretty chill with 8 questions from 3 people. The job listing said 'telework' but they told me in the interview I'd be in the office, so I'm not sure what telework means. They told me HR might take a month to contact me, but it's been 3 months. I emailed the HR rep who sent me the background check form, and she said it's a long process and my background check was done. She said someone would call in a couple weeks. It's been another month and still nothing. My application still says 'In process' online. The reference check was done in June, so I don't know what else they're waiting for. It's been over 3 months, which is longer than the federal government's process. It's really unprofessional to keep me waiting like this. I hope this moves along because I want the job, but this waiting is making me think I should look elsewhere. Update: Got the offer the last week of August. I was disappointed because I have over 3 years of experience and multiple degrees. The offer was low for the salary range and they said it wasn't negotiable. I'm unhappy because the offer is lower than my current pay. They advertise a salary range but don't intend to pay near the top. I'll take it to get my foot in the door.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
Project Coordinator
Had a panel interview with 3 managers and 1 director. They asked HR Pre-approved questions in a "Tell me a time when." format. The staff were super professional. The process went smoothly and I felt less nervous once we got going. They used a round robin method where each interviewer asked a question from a page.
- Can you share an instance where you experienced conflict with a colleague and describe how you resolved it?
