I applied online and got an email to schedule a phone interview for the next day. The phone interview was the following week, and they asked me standard questions about my background. I heard back a week later to schedule my first in-person interview. I met with the Executive Print Producer and a Senior Digital Artist. It was pretty casual. I showed them my portfolio, and they asked relevant questions conversationally. The week after, the recruiter emailed me to set up another in-person interview with other Senior Digital Artists to help them decide. This second interview was quicker; they didn't have me present my portfolio again but asked more about my background, experience, and skills. It ended with a quick tour of the offices. Two weeks later, I got an email saying they hired someone else.

I was super excited to get the call from the recruiter for this interview! We had a lot of phone tag initially. The recruiter didn't send a confirmation email after we set the interview, and then she went on vacation the next day, which was kinda stressful because I was just waiting around. It also didn't help that it was right before the fourth of July, so most people weren't checking emails. I reached out to the other recruiter mentioned in her out-of-office reply and even called the agency itself. Finally, I got the email confirmation the day before the interview, which included an application I'd already completed. The actual interview was pretty unique. I met with two people first, then another guy about 30 minutes later. We chatted about my experience and I asked if I had any questions. They said I'd hear back within a week. Then came the waiting. A week later, I called one of the interviewers, who said he didn't handle follow-ups and I should contact my recruiter, which struck me as a bit odd. I called my recruiter, and she said they were still interviewing and to call back mid-week. I did, but got her voicemail, so I emailed her, figuring she was busy. No response. I started to get the feeling I didn't get the job, which was a bummer since I felt more qualified for this role than any other I'd interviewed for. Another week passed, so I emailed again and finally got a response. I didn't get the job, but they said my interview was positive. They went with someone with more experience but would keep me in mind for future roles.

I got a call back in early Feb for a phone interview that was about 10 minutes long. They asked some basic questions about my resume. Then, I didn't hear anything until mid-March when I was asked to interview with a specific team. This interview was okay, some questions were easy, others were tough. After that, silence. I didn't hear from HR again until May. I assumed I wasn't getting the internship, but then they wanted to interview me for a different team, which couldn't happen until the end of May. I went for that interview, and the team seemed uninterested. A few days later, I found out I didn't get the job. The whole thing took way too long and felt really unorganized.

The whole process from the first contact to the offer was smooth. The recruiter was really helpful, and the creative team was very open. I had two phone interviews, and then I flew in. When I got there, I met with the CDs. Those meetings were more like opportunities for me to learn about the team and get a feel for the city. It was a great experience overall.
