Software Engineer
For this role, they'll mostly ask questions about your experience and how it aligns with the job description. The interview process includes an HR round and two technical rounds. They seem to value referrals quite a bit. Usually, the interviews are conducted over the phone, with the technical rounds taking place via video call.
- Can you discuss your past experiences in relation to the requirements of this role?
Site Manager
The interview process was good and thorough. They asked typical questions and followed up. The process was quick and professional. I enjoyed interviewing with the company because it was low stress and felt like a conversation. They asked questions about my experience.
- Can you tell me about your experience in healthcare?
Compliance Officer
The interview process was very brief initially. I had a first screening, and then they became unresponsive for over a month. They eventually reached out again for a second interview. I got the sense they were interviewing me just to meet a diversity quota, which seemed to be confirmed when the Chief Compliance Officer canceled on me. Their blatant disregard for the process was a dealbreaker.
- Describe a time you faced conflict at work and how you handled it.
Supervisor
The interviewer introduced herself and gave an overview of the phone interview process. The first thing she asked me was, "Do I still work at CCA?" This was odd because my resume, which I uploaded before the call, showed the correct dates of my employment at CCA. She told me that the resume in the system did not have the correct dates. This was strange to me because most companies have an internal application process/system for current employees, and I submitted my application through the external website. This may or may not be the case at CCA. She then asked about my previous position with CCA, and I gave a brief summary. She also asked for an updated resume and said she needed to reach out to HR to see what they wanted to do. The call ended, and I sent over my resume. However, no interview questions were asked about the position I applied for. As far as I know, I left the company in good standing. So, I'm not sure what the next steps would be after not officially being screened or interviewed for the position I applied for. A week or so passed, and I sent a follow-up email about this position but received no response. I figured it was worth checking what resume was attached to my application on the CCA career site. I found that once the application was submitted, I could no longer access the application details. I also noticed a more senior position that is honestly probably more in line with my skill set. So, I applied for that position as well. While applying, I tried uploading my resume and noticed that the button to upload a resume from my files was no longer there. It would only allow me to import from Google or Dropbox, and there was an area to paste a copy of my resume. It also had a link to previous resumes. So, out of curiosity, I looked to see what the previous resumes were. I found 4 files: 3 that I could not open and a 4th file, an old resume from 2023. I tried to delete it and found that I could not. I copy-pasted my resume into this application and submitted it. At this point, I still had not received a response to my follow-up email. Another week or so passed, and I still hadn't heard from the interviewer regarding my first application, and I was concerned because, again, I left on good terms. Prior to leaving CCA, I had never been reprimanded or given any reason to believe I was not performing well. All the feedback I received indicated I was doing a good job. I sent another follow-up email to the interviewer asking about the role but also informing her that I had applied for another position and found a potential system issue. About a week or so later, I received an email stating the position was filled. I never got an answer about the HR decision. Here's my problem: why pick up the phone to ask about employment dates when you can find that out by looking in the system or just reach out to HR before the phone screen? Why waste a phone screen call and not screen the applicant? One thing I can say about this process is that it was obvious they did not want to hire me for this role. This bothers me because I am a former employee and hold CCA in high regard. If you're not going to hire someone, or in this case, interview someone, don't drag out the process. Be honest and upfront. The date of that resume stuck in the system was from 2023. The job I applied for was posted in March 2024.
- Can you confirm if you are still employed at CCA?
