First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Common Desk.
Community Associate
It was great talking to a lot of different people and I felt really encouraged and welcomed about this role. There's a lot of room for growth here and they're open to many different experience levels.
- How would you define Hospitality?
- What are your 5-year career goals?
Community Associate
The interview process was pretty standard, with 4 rounds total - 3 virtual and 1 on-site. They moved things along fast, only to reject me and say they picked others. I saw the job reposted 3 days before the last round, so I emailed my contact about it. He brushed it off, saying their roles auto-repost. The Westchase Houston location was a mess - nobody at the front desk, and I had to wait. They also didn't pay for parking. The on-site person said they were understaffed but that I was qualified. All 4 interviews asked the same questions, showing a lack of communication between the employees there and the main contact. It's funny that WeWork's poor employee experience extends to potential hires, especially coming from bigger companies. My expectations were higher for Common Desk, but they seem to be following WeWork's lead. Set your expectations low if you're interviewing with them.
- How would you cultivate community within the Common Desk Team?
Project Manager
The process was fun and professional through multiple rounds of video and in person meetings. After applying I was invited to a virtual interview that lasted about 30 minutes. The next two rounds were in person; one-on-one and then a small team.
- Can you describe some processes you've helped introduce in your previous roles?
Intern
It was a 30 minute zoom call. Very friendly tone. They seem to hire after only one round of interview, which takes the company about two weeks to complete. Ask you questions. Then describes the position. And you have time to ask about 2-3 questions at the end. Followed by quick next steps.
- Can you tell me what customer service means to you?
