I was interviewed by a technically-based consultant who works for a consultancy firm, for a role at an oil company aiming to improve part of their plant. I had relevant experience for the tasks required for the position. The consultant suggested I expand my CV in more detail, as the one originally sent was too brief. That same afternoon, I followed their advice and sent the updated CV. The job description mentioned specific knowledge required, and when I asked for clarification, the interviewer said they didn't know what those technical details referred to. They also suggested I ask for a higher gross salary. After that interview, they never contacted me again.
