First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ComForCare.
Clinical Manager
The interview went really well, the interviewer was personable and nice. They were punctual and willing to meet off-site after work hours. It was easy to talk to them, they communicated effectively and responded quickly. I was very pleased with the entire interview experience and would consider the job if an offer was made.
- What motivates your interest in home care?
Staffing Coordinator
This was probably the most negative and time wasting interview I have ever had. First off, I was interviewed by a franchise owner and the current person in the position. The owner gave me a puzzle and told me to figure it out within three minutes. I was not able to figure it out and he proceeded to tell me that his 4th grade son was smarter than me. I should have walked out then and there. As soon as I as that happened, I knew the interview was going to be interesting. The interview last over 2 hours only for him to tell me that he is not looking to hire right away and might not hire anyone until next year. He also was not able to tell me what kind of salary the job provided and there were no benefits. It was a complete and utter waste of time.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Describe a time you faced a difficult challenge and how you overcame it.
- How do you handle working under pressure?
Home Health Aide
This agency has a 10-step screening process for candidates, which is good for clients but leads to high turnover because they pay minimum wage with no benefits for difficult work. They expect you to have training already, but don't offer to pay for it. They also expect you to use your own car and have car insurance, but don't reimburse for those expenses, even though Michigan has the most expensive car insurance. They also require an immediate drug screen that only tests for marijuana, which is problematic for those with legal medical marijuana cards, like myself. They seem to be behind the times with these tests, especially since Michigan has a legal Medical Marijuana Program.
- Will there be a drug screening?
- Will there be background testing and employment verification?
Accounts Payable Specialist
The interview process involved a long interview followed by a waiting period. The people were very nice and the job itself was amazing, but it was located too far from my home. I've since found a position closer to home, which is where I am now. The role at the previous company was very similar to my current one, so I decided to stay with my current employer and work with people I know and like, rather than changing jobs.
- What qualities do you like about yourself?
