It was a weird interview experience. It was a Zoom call and the hiring manager was actually working and typing during our interview. They seemed distracted, disconnected, and stressed. I had a couple more interviews. The head of HR was nice and professional, but I can't say the same for the other two department heads. I didn't get an offer, and honestly wouldn't have taken one anyway. It felt like a total waste of my time.

First, I had a pretty casual chat with the Head of HR. It was a good vibe because she gave me a lot of space to ask my own questions to make sure the job aligned with what I wanted professionally, and also for her to see if I was a match for Combe. She also shared some really interesting stuff about the business's commercial strategy, which I thought was impressive. It showed me that the HR lead was really on top of that part of the company. After that, I went in for a full day of interviews at the office pretty soon after. Throughout the whole hiring thing, they kept me in the loop about where they were at. Everyone I met seemed genuinely interested in chatting with me and getting to know me. Plus, everyone was on time, which made the whole thing go really smoothly.

The interview process had 5 steps. First, a headhunter conducted a 1:1 interview. Next, I met with the General Manager and a consultant. Then, I had a session with the General Manager alone. Following that, I had a video call with the Vicepresident Category. Finally, I had a video call with the President of the International Market and the Media Head. The whole process, from the interviews to the final negotiations, spanned two months.

The interview process felt unorganized. I met with too many people in one day, spending about 4 hours at their location talking to different people. It was called an entry-level position with no required experience, but they asked about my media experience that would qualify me for the role.
