The interview was fast-paced and informal. The doctor asked about my past experiences in school and what I hope to do in the future. It felt pretty casual, but you still need to do your best. It was a bit unconventional, but as an intern, you have to take advantage of the opportunity.

I sent in my application online through the RFMH website. A few days later, they got back to me and invited me for an in-person interview. It seemed to go pretty well. I talked about the research projects I'd worked on, and they gave me a general idea of their own work, mentioning the PI and the postdoc I'd be working with. They also showed me around the lab, and it felt like they were more trying to convince me to join them than the other way around.

I applied online, and a lab member reached out a few days later to set up an in-person interview. During the interview, I didn't get the impression anyone was really excited to meet me. The first interviewer seemed bored and annoyed, and even though the interview was pretty standard, she made the job sound pretty bad by focusing on the negatives. Then, I spoke with the PI, who mostly asked about my research background and future aspirations.
