First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Colonial Electric Supply.
Project Manager
The interview process started with a recruiter/HR chat, followed by meetings with managers. There was also a short test they sent over. Everyone I talked to was really nice and kept the vibe positive!
- Why are you interested in the lighting industry?
Procurement Specialist
I got an email for a phone screener, but then they ghosted me, not returning any emails or calls. About a month later, someone else emailed to reject my application. It felt unprofessional or unorganized.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Sales Associate
It was very casual. I just walked in off the street into one of the showrooms. The manager interviewed me right on the spot and hired me. I was one of only a few people who was hired, not already knowing someone who worked there. A few days later, their HR department up in PA called me to sort everything out, and I was technically hired part-time, but after 2 weeks they offered me full-time.
- Tell me about your sales knowledge.
- What do you know about lighting?
Intern
It was great! The recruiter was very nice and let me share my dreams and goals, trying to find a position that best fit me. The interviewer was very personable and relational, letting me talk through my thoughts and gave me options that could suit my plans.
- What are your career goals?
- Tell me about challenges you've faced and how they've shaped you.
- How do you see yourself fitting into our company?
