College Advisor
It was a very thorough group interview. They asked standard questions and the staff was friendly. They wanted to hear about my past work and my thoughts on cultural responsiveness and sensitivity. The role has a lot of responsibilities, but the team is very supportive.

Human Resources Managing Director
The interview process was fast, but I'm not sure why I didn't get the job. It had four rounds, with both individual and group interviews. I had to show my HR leadership skills and experience. There was also a big skills and experience assessment. A weird thing happened in the second and final interview with the Chief of HR. She went into labor, so I had to interview with two supervisors who weren't hiring managers. Then, the recruiter called the next day. Because the hiring manager was out, a team without a hiring supervisor made the decision. The recruiter said they loved my skills, experience, and assessment performance. It made me wonder why people not supervising the job made the final call after all those interviews and assessments.
- How many weeks of leave are available to a pregnant employee under FMLA/CFRA?
Executive Assistant
I applied online and was contacted by College Track's 3rd party talent sourcer. I cannot recall in any prior interviewing experience being invited to interview to be told that the hiring managers likely wouldn't consider my lack of experience. Despite having over 5 years' recent C-level support experience and additional 5 years' in other administrative roles, when I asked what stood out on my resume to invite me to interview, she responded that she interviews everyone. I felt like the interview was an interrogation, she was extremely rude and condescending. She kept asking me the same questions. I was excited about the position until I spoke with this person--who really shouldn't be conducting them. I emailed her a few days later and withdrew.
- What makes you think you'll continue being an EA? And do you think you want to be an EA in the long term?

First, you'll submit your resume to the department director. If they like it, the director will invite you for a video chat that's about 30 minutes. If that goes well, the director will give you some info about their past fiscal year, like attendance, ACT scores, and student scenarios (both good and bad). You'll need to answer questions about this data and create a 30-minute lesson plan within 3 business days. If they like your work, you'll get invited for an on-site interview where you'll do a 20-minute demo lesson. Finally, if all goes well, you'll get a job offer!

- What difficulties do you foresee in this role?
