First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at College of Western Idaho.
Specialist
Each interview has a minimum 3-5 person panel. Before the interview sessions start, everyone at the table gets pre-approved question sheets a few minutes early. The interviewee gets the same questions and they are read through round-robin style. We are looking for the most qualified person, but having a personality that stands out as dynamic can have a major impact.
- Why should we not hire you?
Representative
I applied online and then they emailed me to set up an interview. They wanted me to prepare a 10-minute presentation for a panel of 3-4 people. They asked a lot of questions that seemed to repeat themselves. I later applied for a One Stop Rep I position and was rejected right away. It made me question why I was considered for a SENIOR role and then rejected for a lower-level one. Maybe they were just not ready for a change.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
Specialist
The interview process includes typical questions asked in a group interview setting. You can expect scenario questions related to specific situations.
- Tell me about your greatest weakness.
