First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at College of the Holy Cross.
Internal Communications Specialist
The whole process moves extremely slow. I've been ghosted after the interview, and the hiring manager just ignores my emails and doesn't even send a rejection email. It's a totally unprofessional way to conduct an interview. Considering this is for an internal communications position, you can expect how poorly they are doing their job.
- Give an example of how you would increase audience engagement on an internal platform.
Associate Director of Admissions
I had an initial phone screening with HR. She didn't have the answers to my job-specific questions, but she did speak positively about the college. She called me a day ahead of schedule and asked if I could do the screening then or the next day. I wasn't sure if this was a test to see if I was flexible. I was concerned that doing it on the spot might hurt my chances, but then I had a Zoom interview with two leaders from the Admissions department. The worst part was that even though I sent individual thank you notes and followed up with one of them, I never got any feedback on whether I got the job or not.
- Can you tell me more about your experience in international admissions?
Admission Counselor
The HR person called 10 minutes after our scheduled time and still expected to talk for a full 30 minutes. The hiring manager then invited me for a second interview, but after I emailed my availability, they never responded. I was ghosted for about 2 months, and now I've been rejected.
- What makes you interested in this job opportunity?
Assistant Director
I had 2 interviews, one was on Zoom and the other was in-person. The in-person interview included a student, the department, and campus partners. It was a really welcoming and nice process. Things moved pretty fast since it was right after the school year started.
