First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at College Hospitals.
Registered Nurse
I applied by downloading a PDF application from their website and emailed it back to them. About two weeks later, they called me to come in for an interview. It was one 30-40 minute meeting with the unit manager in a small private room.
- What would you do in a given scenario?
- Are you familiar with the basics of psych, such as classic manifestations of BPD, schizophrenia, and depression?
- Do you know basic psych terms?
HR Assistant
I went through two interview rounds for an HR Assistant role at CH in Costa Mesa. After investing significant time and effort, I never received any follow-up or closure. There was no rejection email or feedback, just silence. This lack of communication and respect for candidates' time suggests a potential issue with their internal culture and compensation practices, as they may expect high-quality work and effort while offering lower pay. It makes me wonder how they treat their current employees if this is their approach to hiring.

Patient Accounts Representative
It moved pretty fast. I applied on May 20th and heard back on May 21st for an interview on May 22nd. On that day, they called to say the role was filled. I always like it when companies let you know quickly instead of making you wait. Then, about an hour later, they called again saying I might be a good fit for a different role (Patient Admitting Representative) and I had an interview for it right away. They liked me and set up another interview with the Director of Patient Accounts for May 29th. I really enjoyed that interview; it felt more like a chat to see if we were a good match for what we both needed. The vibe was really relaxed, and I could tell it was a great place for me and I was a great fit for them. I got the offer on June 4th.
- What qualities do you seek in a supervisor?
- What is your understanding of our company?
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?
Patient Care Manager
It was a three step interview process that included HR and management, and I also had to complete some questionnaires. I was also given a scenario and asked how I would handle it.
- Tell me about your experience.
- Given a scenario, how would you approach it?
- Please complete the following questionnaires.
