Paid Media Planner
Applied through LinkedIn. HR recruiter reached out informally via email 2-3 days after. A phone screening was scheduled, but it was surprisingly unplanned. The HR recruiter wasn't prepared with questions from the hiring managers and only asked two questions. They promised to follow up within a week, but never replied to my follow-up email, which I sent 2 weeks after the call.
- What was your motivation for wanting this position?
Creative Director
Things were a bit slow at first, but after the initial conversation, the rest of the interview process moved at a good pace. The recruiter was really thorough and kept me updated. When some senior leaders had to cancel last minute, they were quick to reschedule and keep things moving forward.
- What are your personal growth aspirations?
- Can you tell me about the typical size of teams you've led?
Strategist
It took several months to interview at Colle McVoy, and I wasn't told much about the timing or if they were still interested. After months of waiting, they offered me a job that paid $5,000 less than my current role. When I tried to negotiate for that $5,000 by asking them to at least match my salary or give me other benefits like more PTO or parking, they immediately withdrew the offer. They said I negotiated unreasonably and at the wrong time, which was surprising since they had wasted my time for 4 months on an entry/mid-level position and then made an insulting offer below my current salary. Negotiations aren't over until an agreement is reached. It was a really bad experience; I'd avoid any company that disrespects candidates like this.
- Could you discuss the projects you are currently involved in and share your perspective on each?
- What are your thoughts and insights regarding the projects you're presently working on?
Data Engineer
So basically there were 3 rounds for this job. It took like over a month. First round was just a basic phone screening. The second one was a technical phone interview. And the third round was a technical Skype interview and I talked to 3 different people. I felt like it went well but then I didn't hear back from HR for like a whole month. I emailed them 3 times but no response, and then after a month I got a rejection email.
- The questions were mainly about my past work experience.
