COINS Interview Questions
& Process

The best interview process I've been through so far. COINS came to my campus and presented to my HRIS MBA class at University at Albany. From this presentation we were able to decide if COINS could possibly be a good fit for us and our concentrated major. After an on-campus interview at school, only two were asked to come for an on-site Grad Interview Day. The Grad Interview Day consisted of many different aspects of the hiring process. We completed a personal, verbal and math assessment that we were scored on. We then discussed those scores with different people from the company and got feedback directly. There was a group discussion and presentation based off of readings we completed prior to the interview day. These readings were on social responsibility and social enterprises, giving me as an interviewee a direct insight to their company values. We also presented an individual presentation on an up and coming technology in the construction industry. Then there two more one on one interviews, including one with your potential manager. The day was long, we were there from 8 am to 3 pm, but we were able to meet so many people throughout the company and really get a good insight to the type of company COINS is.

The first round was an HR interview where they asked common questions and some questions related to my resume. it was quite easy. they just wanted to see if I have a good personality and know my basic background. The second round was with the hiring manager. this round, I had to go to their company and take a math test and a verbal test. the math test was all about finding the order of a series of numbers. it was half an hour, and average people can get 12 questions done. the verbal test had an illustration of a part of a computer, combined with a lot of terminology and logical statements. I had to choose the right statement from five choices. the goal of the verbal test is to know if you can follow the rule rather than randomly taking a guess and causing trouble for the company. After I finished the test, the hiring manager interviewed me. they talked a lot about their daily responsibilities and wanted to know how much I know and am interested in IT.

First, the recruiting agent did a quick shortlisting and asked some technical questions before passing my profile to the clients. After that, they set up a Teams interview with a senior team member I might work with. This one was mostly technical with some general aptitude questions. Once I cleared that, a second round was scheduled with the same person, the person I'd be replacing who got promoted, and the company director. They all asked more technical and some general aptitude questions. It lasted about half an hour. I thought the whole process was good, but I'm still waiting to hear back.

Mostly video interviews during COVID, but they did require an in-person meeting before extending an offer. I went in person, but still no offer. They repeatedly missed their own deadlines for getting back to me. I almost missed another job opportunity because they initially said they'd make an offer, then kept delaying, and finally didn't offer the position.
