First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Coilcraft.
Accounting Associate
When I got there the HR person was super unfriendly and never smiled. First, I had to take a math test and she was distracting me by clanking her nails on her laptop. It was really rude and unprofessional. The first question they asked me was kind of insulting, why do they care where I went to college? I got my degree, right?!
- What was your reason for selecting Southern New Hampshire University to pursue your BS in Accounting?
Manager
The whole thing took about 2 months. I had a phone screen, then radio silence for a while before things sped up. After that, I did two more virtual interviews and then a final in-person one. Total interview time was around 7 hours. Most people were nice. The interview felt very one-way, not much of a back-and-forth. I made sure to say I had questions, but their answers were pretty vague and lacked detail. I'd have called it okay, but one interviewer was unpleasant and asked questions like an interrogation.
- Were you asked to solve math problems in your head?
Mechanical Design Engineer
This was a nice interview process, everyone was super friendly. First, I had to take two math tests. One was just basic arithmetic like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. The other was about percentages and calculating net profit, also pretty simple and direct. After that, I chatted with HR, then the department head. Lastly, I met with some of the team members who are in different roles. Overall, it was a good experience for a new grad.
- Could you tell me about your career aspirations?
- Which aspect of mechanical design are you most passionate about?
Materials Chemistry Engineer
So, the interview process started with a phone screening. After that, I had a phone interview with the direct supervisor for the position. Then there was an in-person interview that included the HR representative, the direct supervisor, and another Materials Chemistry Engineer. They also gave me an assignment. I was also told about a final interview with the direct supervisor and his supervisors, but it was never confirmed. I'm still waiting to hear back.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
