First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Cohn Restaurants.
Graphic Artist
I applied online and then got an email to set up a video interview. The interview had two interviewers, and they were pretty chill. It was kinda weird though, they asked me if I had questions first, before we'd even talked about the job. Usually, interviewers introduce themselves and the company, then explain the job, and then I get to ask questions.
- Were you familiar with the company?
- What's your favorite place to eat?
Host/Hostess
You can apply online or drop off an application in person. The interview process is pretty straightforward, with a maximum of 3 interviews, but usually, it's just one. They ask really easy questions and the forms are simple to fill out. Depending on who you interview with, that might determine if you have any future interviews. You got this!
- Why are you interested in working in the restaurant industry?
Host
You'll meet with one or two managers first to see if you're a good fit skill and personality-wise. After that, there's a meeting with the general manager to go over expectations before they extend an offer.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences?
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What attracts you to this position?
Food Server
Since it was a brand new restaurant, the interview process felt like a big group session, with three interviews in total involving different levels of management, and ending with meeting the restaurant's General Manager.
- Can you introduce yourself?
