Field Reimbursement Manager
I applied online on March 4th. I heard from the recruiter on April 10th for a recruiter phone screen on April 11th. It was good because I had worked with this recruiter before and we had success. The hiring manager had a 30-minute Zoom meeting with me on April 17th, which felt positive. She did a reference check during the meeting when I mentioned a mutual connection, but it was unsolicited and positive, so she moved me forward. On April 19th, the recruiter sent instructions for a 50-minute Zoom panel interview with the hiring manager and two sales leaders. It included a case assignment where I had to do a presentation about product support services, acting as if I was on the job during a launch with a new customer. I shared my presentation with the hiring manager on April 24th, a day before the deadline, to potentially get feedback. After some delays in scheduling, I finally had the Zoom panel on May 1st. Right before the meeting, the hiring manager emailed, saying she hadn't received my presentation, which was concerning. One sales leader didn't attend, and the hiring manager's demeanor changed, becoming distant. The first question from a sales leader was, "What is a misconception people have about you?" – which I found aggressive and unprofessional, especially with his example. I felt I could have improved some parts, but ultimately, there wasn't mutual respect or appreciation for my detailed presentation. The hiring manager also pointed out something I supposedly missed in my research, which I didn't challenge then, assuming she knew best. After the meeting, I emailed her to thank her and ask where I should have found that information, including my research source. I haven't received a response, and I'm writing this the following week. I question if they treat their customers this way, especially since she ignored my follow-up email about a crucial piece of information related to her own exercise.
- What's a common misunderstanding about you?
- Could you present the support services for the product, pretending you're already in a launch scenario with a new customer?
Manager
A third-party recruiter reached out, thinking I'd be a good fit. I had an initial 30-minute call with the hiring manager, then another with HR. They wanted to move forward and scheduled 7 Zoom interviews over 3 days the following week. Each person gave positive feedback, saying I had the qualifications and 'had their vote.' Some even said, 'you seem like a good fit and I look forward to working with you soon.' After a few days, I emailed HR to thank them and ask about next steps, but got no response. I then contacted the third-party recruiter, who said he'd follow up. The next day, he told me they were moving forward with someone else. It felt like poor communication from HR, and the interviewers shouldn't have given false hope.
- Can you share your relevant past experiences that demonstrate your suitability for this role?
Contractor
I applied on Glassdoor and heard back within 48 hours about a phone interview. The recruiter I spoke with was friendly and informative. Within another 48 hours, I was scheduled for an onsite interview with team members ranging from coordinator to SVP. Everyone made me feel comfortable, and I noticed many women in management roles and a general excitement about working at Coherus. I received an offer within a week. While the interviews were smooth, I wished for more frequent updates during the process.
- What are your hobbies outside of work?
Finance
The team was great and asked basic questions. I really liked the hiring manager, who seemed very development-focused. The Head of HR was also very pleasant. There's a section of the office with a glass enclosure, including a private office and conference room for the CEO; people appeared hesitant to go in there. The CEO avoided eye contact during our interview, which I felt was telling. I think the company is promising, but like many things in Biotech, if it performs well, it's likely to be acquired.
- Can you describe your relevant experience?
