The interview process was quite extensive. It started with a screening call, followed by a chat with a more senior team member to get a high-level overview of my experience. Then, I was given a pretty substantial take-home assignment. This involved building a model using provided data sources, detailing my approach to evaluating LLMs, and preparing a presentation. They estimated it would only take a few hours, but to do it well, I realistically spent about 10-15 hours. After submitting it, they decided if it was good enough to proceed to the presentation stage, which I thought was a bit odd considering the time investment. I did move on to present, and the team gave very positive feedback, saying I connected well with them. The next step, which I believe was the final round, was a one-on-one with the hiring manager. My main frustration throughout was the difficulty in getting in touch with anyone for questions or timeline updates. After the final interview, I sent a few follow-ups and eventually got an automated rejection email. I was more bummed about not getting any specific feedback on why I wasn't selected, especially after putting in so much effort on the assignment, than I was about not getting the job itself. Honestly, the whole process felt pretty disappointing and frustrating. They really need to improve their communication and provide actual feedback to candidates. It really soured my initial excitement about the company.

The recruiter was responsive and laid out the process during the initial HR phone screen. However, they went silent when I asked for feedback. I also inquired about other open roles, but received no reply.

The interview process had 5 rounds in total. First was an OA on Hackerrank, then a recruiter call where they asked basic questions about my background, projects, and interest in the company. The remaining 3 rounds were loop interviews that focused more on my background, resume, projects, and behavioral questions.
