First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Coeur Mining.
Geologist Intern
The interview happened over Zoom. They mostly talked about my resume, asking about my background, experiences, and skills. They also asked what I wanted to get out of the internship and wanted to hear about my career goals, interests, and what I expect for professional growth. It was a straightforward talk to see if I was qualified and what my motivations were, and I got to explain how the internship fits with what I want to do in the future.
- Regarding the internship, what location would you prefer and what's the reasoning behind that choice?
Geology Intern
First, I had to do an online interview that I could complete on my own time. Then, I had a Zoom interview online with three people from the geology team. It was a nice experience interviewing with them, and I'd apply again now that I know more.
- What is your level of comfort with mineral identification?
Human Resources
We had a few interview rounds. First, I spoke with an external recruiter, then with the site HR person, then with corporate HR, and finally another round with the site HR. After that, they made an offer. The external recruiter made things pretty smooth, and I imagine the other interviews would have been similar.
- Can you share an instance where you were required to implement a policy or procedure that you personally disagreed with?
Director
I highly recommend Coeur Mining as an employer. Although I did not secure the position, the interview process and the team were impressive. They invested time in understanding me and clearly communicated their business strategy, highlighting why Coeur is a great company with ample opportunities. I felt respected and valued throughout the process, which spanned several weeks and multiple rounds as numerous executive team members wanted to meet. I appreciated their thorough approach and how they respected my time. If you have the chance to interview with them, take it!
- Were the interviews very conversational in nature?
