First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Codeword.
PR Account Supervisor
I applied online and went through a bunch of interviews. The hiring team was really unresponsive and unprofessional, honestly. I should have checked Glassdoor reviews first. It's bad when a company leads you on and then ghosts you after 4-5 rounds. They gave no feedback and seemed really disengaged. In the end, maybe it was good I didn't get an offer because I don't think they value open communication or accountability. Seriously, don't waste your time here.
- What are your ideas for our business?
Strategist
I got contacted by someone in HR with Codeword after an acquaintance passed along my resume. I set up an interview with HR and ended up having an hour-long interview. The interviewer kept saying how quickly she would be getting back to me about next steps, saying she would text or email me by the end of the next day and that there was a 95% chance I would be moving forward in the process. She ended up not getting back to me for about a month (with a rejection, obviously). It was a frustrating experience.
- How proficient are you with PowerPoint?
Editor
I had a video call with recruiting. She seemed nice but unprofessional, looking like she just woke up and was yawning. She said she'd update me in a few days but told me to text her if I didn't hear back by the end of the week. I texted her, and she said she was waiting to hear from the hiring manager and to text again tomorrow. I decided not to follow up anymore because it felt like I was doing her job. The company then ghosted me.
- Can you share why you're seeking to leave your current job and what about this role caught your attention?
- What about this position has piqued your interest, and why are you looking to depart from your current role?
Account Executive
The interview process was really smooth. It began with a call from the SVP. Then, a few days later, I had an interview with two AEs. I found out their decision a few days after that. They also gave me a writing challenge to finish within 24 hours, which I did between the other interviews.
- Can you describe your approach to creating a media list?
