First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CodePath.
Sales Engineer
It was a really well-organized interview process. They asked questions that were spot-on for the job and designed to check my technical skills and how I approach program management. Lots of behavioral questions were asked. The interviewers were chill and made me feel comfortable, so it was an easy conversation, not like an interrogation. They really listened and it felt like we were working together, not just them judging me. It was a good experience, I got a better feel for the job and how they care about creating a supportive place to learn.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Management Role
It was a Zoom recruiter screen, then a Zoom call with the hiring manager (COO). I didn't make it past that. If I had, they would have had me do a 5-year plan presentation, and the final step was an interview with the CEO. A major issue was that the people involved weren't specialists in the role, and it really felt like they didn't know what they were looking for. They actually mentioned having candidates at all different stages for this role, and they recently reposted the job, which just confirmed my suspicions. They claimed to have had hundreds of applicants.
- Tell me about your past three jobs, including how you got hired, why you left, and one success and one failure from each.
Program Manager
The whole thing took about two months. I had more interviews than I ever have for one job before. First was a screening call with HR, then an interview with the manager. After that, I did a paid project. Then I had a meeting to go over the project with them. Next was an interview with the manager's manager, then one with the team. Finally, I had a last chat with the manager before they made me an offer. I think it was 7 steps total.
- Can you outline a strategy and timeline to solve a problem we've been experiencing?
Product Manager
I was contacted by a recruiter for an initial phone screen. Following that, I had a second round scheduled with the hiring manager. However, the hiring manager rescheduled our call the day before it was supposed to happen because of a conflict they couldn't miss, pushing it back a week. After that, it took about 1.5 weeks and me following up to get any kind of update. The whole process felt poorly planned, and it seemed like they didn't really prioritize candidates or the candidate experience. The rejection email was standard and boilerplate, and then the recruiter ghosted me when I asked for feedback, which unfortunately seems common.
- Were there any specific questions or aspects of the interview that stood out, besides the negative candidate experience?
