It was a good experience overall. The atmosphere felt welcoming and the team seemed pleased to meet me. They asked good questions. I'd say if you're interested in this position, go for it and be optimistic, as there's definitely potential here and it's a great opportunity.

I emailed the HR rep with my resume and cover letter, and she was really impressed. She thought I'd be a great fit and had already spoken to the night shift manager about me, and they were both looking forward to the interview. When I got there, the night manager had an emergency and couldn't make it. I felt like they could have rescheduled, especially since I didn't live too far away, but instead, they had me interview with the day shift manager. He was super informal and kept saying he didn't want to do the interview and wasn't prepared, but figured it'd be okay since he hired the night manager. I coached him through it, explaining my interest in the position. He stumbled through his questions, and after about 10 minutes, he just ended it after asking me a few things, all while complaining he didn't want to do it. I was thinking, he's the one signing off, and he's acting like this? I told him, like I told the HR rep, that I had a few days planned for business matters before training started.

  • So, tell me why you think you'd be a great fit for the company, considering you don't have experience making loans. I mean, can you handle a mortgage of over $400,000 or a credit card limit of $10,000 or more?

It was a slow and outdated process, totally disorganized. The recruiter didn't keep in touch and set up interviews without checking if I was free. They kept getting rescheduled and took ages between each step. No initial phone screen, the first interview was directly with someone from a related team over Webex. The second interview was a panel in person. The third step was, believe it or not, three personality assessments.

I interviewed with two managers. They asked me about my work history and why I was interested in this role. It seemed pretty standard. Afterwards, they showed me around the teller area. I felt like I would get the job.
