First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Coalition.
Data Scientist Intern
The first interview was a recruiter chat. He asked about my experience and some general questions, like where I'm from. It wasn't too challenging. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me. However, I didn't get selected for the next interview.
- Can you tell me about a specific experience from your resume?
Data Scientist
The interview had 4 parts. First, a 30-minute HR screen. Then, a 1-hour SQL coderpad take-home test. After that, a 1-hour hiring manager screen. Finally, an onsite round which included a 1-hour SQL interview, a 1-hour analytics interview, a 1-hour behavioural interview with a PM, and a 1-hour bar raiser interview. The questions were mostly standard SQL and analytics, so no surprises there. It was a bit of a long process, but I enjoyed it because everyone was really nice and easy to talk to. The recruiter was also super helpful with all my questions.
- Can you share an instance of a goal you set that you wish you had achieved better, and describe how you could have improved upon it?
Data Scientist
I was reached out by Coalition on Linkedin. Had an initial chat about my past work history. Things were going fine until I inquired about the salary range for the role. I was quoted 65k plus benefits, but the job offer listed a range of 125k-200k. When I pointed this out, the recruiter explained it was due to the USD to Euro exchange rate, as I'd be working from Europe and hadn't specified a currency preference. They said they'd look into it but never got back to me on that. It also seemed I'd be the only one on the team of about 10 people working from Europe.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience and what kind of work you're most keen on doing?
