First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Coach.
Intern
My friend referred me, and then HR gave me a 15-minute phone screening call, they were really nice. About 4 days after that, I got an email to schedule my one-on-one interview in NY with the Senior designer from the team I'm supposed to join. The interview day itself went really smoothly, it felt more like a chat with a friend than an actual interview. There was no need to be worried, they just wanted to get to know me a bit better.
- Could you describe your personal design language?
Intern
I sent my resume through email and had two interviews. They contacted me the same day. The first interview was one-on-one. I felt the interviewer didn't know much about Coach or the intern's tasks, which gave me a negative impression, and I almost didn't proceed. However, I went to the second interview, which was a 2:1 group interview but felt more like one-on-one. The interviewer seemed more senior and clearly answered questions that the previous interviewer fumbled. Scheduling the interviews took a while, and deciding on a start date after the offer also took time. Sometimes there were weeks of no communication. The overall process is quite slow.
- Can you define what a 'brand' is and explain its significance to Coach?
Intern
It was pretty simple, just a few behavioral and technical questions about excel and logical regression. They also asked questions about fashion companies and why I liked certain companies more over others.
- Could you describe your experience using Excel?
- What is your background with Excel?
- What do you think about fashion companies?
