Human Resources
The hiring process is long and lacks transparency. It requires persistence to get any feedback. The interviewer started the interview 15 minutes late, without apologizing. The interview itself lacked structure. While a candidate should be able to lead a conversation, they are not a performer. Clear instructions are needed, which was not the case here.
- Do you have any questions about the role?
Manager
The recruitment process was great: communication was smooth, discussions were constructive, and follow-up was very attentive. I was supported professionally and kindly at every step, making the experience reassuring and enriching, with great listening and advice.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
CRM Analyst
The process was great, everyone was lovely. The feedback was incomplete. I always ask for the reason behind another choice to know where I should improve for the market. Or if it's a missing skill, location, anything... they only responded 3 weeks after the agreed deadline, because I questioned the recruiter, and the response had no details, even though I asked very calmly 🤷🏼♀️
- Was the hybrid, not very flexible model a problem?
Release Manager
I applied online and the process took 2 months. There was an HR interview, then an interview with my N+1 manager, an interview with N+2, and a final one with the IT director (N+3). The interview with N+1 lasted an hour with lots of discussion about my experiences. It was the only interview I enjoyed because it was more challenging than the one with the director. The question 'What are your flaws?' is no longer a way to assess someone, especially since it's usually asked by HR, not N+3. After 2 months and 4 interviews, he's the one who makes the final decision based on these kinds of questions. After several follow-ups, HR finally informed me of the decision. I felt like she was making up weak excuses to justify the rejection. The moral of the story: if they tell you that you'll be meeting with this person and that he makes the final decision, disregarding all previous interviews: RUN.
- The IT director asked: What are your flaws? (revise this 1945 question well)
