Sales Associate
It was a straightforward and pretty easy interview process with 3 interviews total. After those interviews, it took around 30 days to get fully onboarded and begin training. Typically, you'll be interviewed by state or regional managers.
- Are you open to travel for the role?
PHP Developer
I applied in September and got a response after a month in October. There were 3 rounds: the first was with HR, the second was technical, and the third was with the Director and a team member, covering both technical and behavioral aspects. I thought I did well, but then there was a period of silence. I eventually contacted a different HR person (as mine was on PTO) and found out they hired someone with more experience. The interview itself was positive, and the interviewers were great; I just wish there had been more transparency.
- Tell me about your PHP experience.
- Do you have any PHP-based questions?
Application Developer
The interview process was clear: a behavioral interview, a technical one, and finally a panel interview. It started with a chat with the Lead Talent Acquisition Partner who asked the first set of questions; she seemed a bit distracted. Next, I had the technical interview with the Hiring Manager from 40|86, a CNO Financial subsidiary. He was nice and got straight to the technical questions after introductions. Then there was a two-week hiring freeze. I was told the hiring manager liked my profile and I was still a candidate. I tried to follow up after two weeks, but they just ghosted me. It's pretty disappointing for a company of their reputation.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your thoughts on sponsorship and your salary expectations?
- What knowledge do you have about CNO Financial Group?
Project Manager
The interview process kicked off with a chat with the recruiter, followed by a call with the hiring manager. Then, there was an onsite interview that lasted about 1.5 to 3 hours. This part involved meeting with the hiring manager, their colleagues, staff, and potential peers. It was a pretty standard process with no personality tests or deep skill assessments, mostly focusing on if I'd fit the team. I felt my experience might have been a drawback for the hiring manager. I sent a thank-you note via the recruiter and checked in once to see if anything else was needed. This was my third time interviewing for similar roles at this location, and though everyone was nice and professional during the interviews, I never heard back any of the three times. So, professionalism seemed to end when the interview did. It's surprising that candidates don't get a 'no' or a reason, especially when companies complain about no-shows.
