The interview process was pretty straightforward. It was important to know about editorial and breaking news processes to give good answers. Knowing about CNN platforms was a plus. Language skills didn't matter, and experience outside of news production wasn't considered.

I had an interview with the Head of HR, first over the phone and then in person. She was very nice and made me feel comfortable during the hour-long conversation. She really wanted me to work at CNN. After that, I interviewed with the Executive Producer of the department I was referred to. This person was also clear and relaxed, and everything went well. They asked me to send over some ideas to showcase my writing and creative abilities. Although I didn't get the job because it was very competitive, they said the interview went well and I made a good impression. I was initially told I was overqualified but insisted on interviewing. The key is to be mindful of everything you say and do because they are paying close attention. Even though the atmosphere was positive and the interviewers did a great job, the interview was difficult.
