As a previous intern, I applied for the production assistant job. The interview process started with a phone chat with HR, followed by two more interviews virtually, one with the EP and another with the Senior Producer.

I applied to CNN for several positions and after not hearing back for months, I received a call for this Production Assistant role in the Image and Sound department. I had a video chat with the supervisor who asked me some basic questions and then set me up for a video chat interview with her supervisor and another person about a week later. During that interview, her supervisor asked me a lot of rapid-fire questions to get to know me and promised to let me know about the job within three weeks, but I never heard back.

I got referred by someone who works there and then got a call from the recruiter after 2 days to set up a chat with the executive producer. We talked 3 days later. It was a quick call, mostly about the job itself and not so much about my qualifications. He barely asked about my background and said the recruiter would be in touch in a couple of weeks. After a few weeks, I emailed the recruiter to see what was up, but they just said they were still hiring and would let me know about the next steps soon. It's been more than 3 months and I haven't heard anything back. I even sent another email and got no response. I was pretty bummed out about being left hanging like that and their lack of communication made the company look bad in my eyes.
