HR reached out about 10 days after I applied. The first interview was with a recruiter over the phone, who was really nice and professional. It seemed like they were just checking if I had the basic skills for the job. The second round of interviews happened a few weeks later with the hiring manager over video. This time, they were more focused on how I'd fit into their specific team. They ended up going with someone with more experience since there were a lot of qualified people. My best advice is to just relax if you get a second interview, be confident in yourself, and be yourself.

The interview process involved 3 phone interviews, followed by an in-person interview. I was then invited back for another round and hired a few days after that. I really enjoyed the whole process and got to meet the entire team, which gave me a good sense of the day-to-day work.

So I've interviewed with CNN about 6 times and the interview process is pretty much the same each time. First, a recruiter will contact you, and if they like your profile, you'll interview with the hiring manager. After that, there will be some sort of writing test.
