First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CNL Financial.
Legal Contracts and Leasing Manager
I applied on LinkedIn and got a call for an interview. I was supposed to meet six people but only met four because two were out. The interviews were informal and comfortable, more about getting to know me than grilling me on my resume. They asked about my current job and my previous experience. I had to follow up twice after the first interview for an update. Twenty days later, I got invited to a second interview that was also a lunch. After more follow-ups, almost three months later, they told me the position was on hold and apologized for the delay. The communication and finality of this hiring process were not great.
- Would you describe yourself as aggressive, assertive, or competitive?
- In what ways does your previous and current experience equip you for this position?
- Can you quantify your experience with drafting?
Financial Analyst
I met with the CFO, manager, and also briefly the president. It took them about 20-30 days to make their decision, but it all worked out in the end. CNL has a lot of business units and no unit is the same, so you have to be careful and really understand the company since it's a mixed bag as to where you'll end up working.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
Intern
I applied through my college's Career Development Center. The people interviewing me were really nice. The questions weren't too tough, and they even added comments like, 'then you can do this,' or 'know that,' which made things feel easier. It was my very first job interview, so I had no clue what to expect. I guess I'll have to wait to hear back.
- What made you decide on your current major?
- Tell me about your favorite Disney character.
- What would you do in a team where some people aren't pulling their weight?
Analyst
