Integrated Media
It was a lengthy and unprofessional process. After six interviews and an unpaid exercise where I had to show my skills, I was left on read. They kept asking me why I would choose them. It felt like there was internal restructuring or leadership uncertainty. I wouldn't recommend engaging without clear direction and respect for your time.
- Could you create a media plan?
News Reporter
I had a 30 minute call with a recruiter, then two interviews with my potential bosses. After that, I didn't hear anything for over two weeks. I ended up reaching out to one of the interviewers to find out what was going on. Turns out, they gave the job to someone who already worked there. I really liked the two people I would have been working with. The recruiter, though, seemed to forget about me sometimes. I'm not sure if it was because she was in a different location or if she knew the internal person would get the job. The whole silence and drawn-out process made me feel burned out, even though I think I would have liked the job. They seem like really talented and great people.
- Can you tell me about your general experience?
- Describe a time you dealt with a challenge at work.
Social Media Producer
I had a phone interview mid-week and then an in-person interview at the office by the end of the same week, so they were quite quick. Two different people interviewed me, and they were both really nice. They even gave me a tour of the building. I didn't mind that they made it seem like I was definitely getting the job with their promising comments, but then they offered it to someone else. What did bother me was that they didn't email or call me with the news at all. I had to chase them, emailing and calling both interviewers to get a response.
- How familiar are you with the technology industry?
- Can you share your thoughts on recent headlines impacting the tech and business world?
Product Manager
I was emailed to set up a phone chat, which was about 30 minutes. They asked me a lot about past projects. Then they invited me for an in-person meeting. In the interview, I had to figure out some UI issues, but they didn't ask anything about my experience or why I wanted the job.
- What makes you want to be an Assistant Product Manager instead of a designer?
