First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CNC Software.
Videographer Editor
It was a 3 step process. First, I had two zoom interviews with people in the production department. Then, I went to their facility in Tolland, CT to check out the drive and meet the team.
- Do I have any CNC or manufacturing experience?
Content Associate Video Editor
I had an hour long interview where the first half was with someone from HR and then the second half was with the head of the video department. For the first half, the questions were your typical corporate questions you would expect from an interview. For the second half, we went into more detail about the position and was asked about my skills more specifically. Both people were very nice and professional.
- Can you share an example of a time you collaborated within a team?
- Could you elaborate on your previous experiences?

Phone Interview with recruiter - who informed me that the company pays only 70 Percent of employees salaries throughout the year. The remaining 30 Percent is paid *only* 4 times per year - quarterly. The recruiter also stated there are NO exceptions. I have never heard of such an unsavory, and UNETHICAL business practice! I could not get off the phone fast enough.
- Tell me about your past experience.
User Experience Designer
It started with a phone interview, then I came in for a face-to-face meeting. The hiring manager reviewed my portfolio and we chatted about my career path and my aspirations. I got a tour of the office and all the cool stuff they have. I met the whole team, and we hung out and actually worked on a small project together. It was pretty relaxed and fun, but it let me show off my leadership abilities and how I can build teams. I remember it being a good interview, with lots of info about the product they're building and the company vibe.
- Can you tell us about your previous work experience?
- We're a bit concerned you might find a more technical role, less focused on the entertainment industry like your last job, to be boring. What are your thoughts on that?
