First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at CMC Energy Services.
Energy Advisor
It was pretty simple, I spoke with a few managers and the team before they hired me. They asked about my background in the field and my work approaches, as well as my education in the energy sector and schooling.
- Can you tell me who you are outside of work?
IT Manager
I interviewed with the technology team, which was a step in the interview process. This step involved meeting with a team of people who work in the technology department. During this interview, I was asked technical questions, behavioral questions, and situational questions to assess my skills and experience. The interview took place over the phone and online, and it took 3 interviews an hour each time.
- What motivates you to do your best work.
Systems Administrator
The process was pretty fast, wrapped up in about two weeks. However, there are a couple of things that bothered me. First, it was unprofessional to have to chase them down for a decision instead of them reaching out. Second, they were looking for basic IT knowledge but turned me down even though I was only 6 months out from my bachelor's degree and eager to work. I'm not sure why, especially since I got an email saying the feedback was really good, which doesn't really add up.
- Can you explain what DNS is?
QA/QC Inspector
I first talked to the HR manager on the phone. Then they invited me for an in-person interview. I had one interview with the regional manager and a direct supervisor. About a week or two later, HR called me and offered me the position. I started training the next week.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
