Technical Presentation

I interviewed for a senior people role a couple years back. Maybe they treat candidates better these days. I made it to the final rounds but got cut because the hiring manager was upset I waited until the weekend to do their big take-home assignment. Honestly, the take-home was a bit much. They wanted a bunch of real work samples related to the company, like reorg ideas and overhauling current processes. As an experienced HR exec, I could do it all at once, but it was a 20-page deliverable. About 15 minutes after I submitted it, the hiring manager emailed to say I wouldn't be considered because I asked for the weekend to finish it. It really highlighted why they needed a senior HR person.

Behavioral Case Other

The process was super unprofessional. I got a phone call from their head of HR, who seemed like she was new to HR/Recruiting. She asked me questions while she was outside, making it hard to hear her and feel like she was doing me a favor. She said I'd hear back about next steps and a case study, but gave no date. Then, out of the blue, I got an email for an in-person interview, with no mention of the case study. Less than 12 hours before the interview, I got an automated rejection email saying they went with someone else. It was a super unprofessional experience.
